Thank you for your interest in our research. Please read the following information describing the experiments.
NOTE: At present, we are not enrolling new subjects.
STUDY DETAILS: We are interested in the way that arm reaching movements are planned and executed. Subjects will typically reach to visual targets presented in a virtual (computer-generated) environment. The study is completely noninvasive, but does involve sitting still for about an hour. The average total length of the session is an hour or a little longer.
PAYMENT: The total duration of the experiment tends to vary from subject to subject. Subjects will be paid $10 if the session takes an hour or less, $15 if the session takes between an hour and an hour and a half, $20 if the session lasts 1.5-2 hours, etc. Subjects are paid in cash at the end of the experiment.
IMPORTANT: Subjects must have normal or corrected-to-normal (i.e. glasses or contacts are OK) vision to participate, and must have no history of neurological injury (such as stroke) or motor disorders (such as cerebral palsy). If you are left-handed, please let us know, as some studies require right-handed subjects.
SCHEDULING: To participate, please email us at motorlab@phy.ucsf.edu.
