The computational journal club meets weekly to discuss a variety of theoretical and, of course, computational topics in neuroscience. An attempt is made to present the paper, book chapter, or research results at a level of detail and rigor that allows listeners to use the techniques in their own work. The areas covered in the past have ranged from speech recognition algorithms to information transfer in retinal ganglion cells. An overall goal of the journal club is to ferret out in which areas of neuroscience more rigorous computational approaches are useful and elucidating.
Compjc meets every Friday between the hours of 1:30 and 3:00 pm, in HSE810 in the Health Sciences East Building at UCSF.
